报告内容简介：The overall goal of the talk is to describe some striking analogies between classical results in convex geometry, and corresponding facts in the field of elliptic PDE's. I will start by recalling the Brunn-Minkowski inequality; the variational formula for the volume and the Minkowski problem, in convex geometry. Then I will describe the corresponding results in the PDE's area, when the volume is replaced by well known functionals of the Calculus of Variations, which can be defined through an elliptic boundary value problem. In the final part of the talk I will speak about the corresponding situation in the Gauss space, mentioning some recent results, and open problems.
